Welcome to Human Nutrition (BIO223/L)!
Course description: An integrated overview of the principles of nutritional science, with emphasis placed on the role of nutrition in improving health. Topics will include guidelines for food intake, physiological roles of nutrients, nutritional concerns throughout the lifecycle, global nutritional issues, and the role of diet in the prevention of disease. Laboratory exercises will be drawn from diet assessments.

Course time and meeting room:
- First 2 weeks (remote start): For the first two weeks of the semester, lecture and lab will be held at their scheduled times over Zoom (synchronously). Please attend the first day of lecture synchronously, but all subsequent lectures in the first two weeks can be attended either synchronously or asynchronously. I will post Zoom lectures on Canvas immediately after the synchronous lecture. Labs should be attended synchronously.
- It is expected that students will attend lecture and lab in-person starting Week 3 of the semester.
